When Was The Last Time You Went To Confession?
For me maybe about 13 years. I went to catholic grade and high school. I stopped going to church though.

Yes I understand some of you don't believe in God and say there isn't a God so everyone has their own opinion and I'm fine with that.

I still do though remember the act of contrition for whenever I do go again.

and how then do you go about teaching children that there is something bigger than themselves?

i am assuming here that you lack the arrogance to believe humans are the best the universe has to offer. i further assume you have read some Einstein and his views on God. and for this line of inquiry, i will limit my definition of God to a force behind the order of the universe that happens where should be nothing but randomness and chaos.

feel free to hate religion. however, you should also reserve the right to not judge those that engage in any religion.

i also can't figure out if you are attempting wit by using thank God in your response, or if you truly wrote it without realizing it. i'll give you the benefit of the doubt on that one.

        never went to confession.

Mr.Rob, I go every every day , to 7 00 am mass, , if I AM NOT FEELING WELL ,such as the last 4 months I go maybe three times or four times a week , the masses are very short during the week 35 minutes .I have a strong believe in receiving communion. Throughout the lords teachings he states that the body and the blood of Christ is where the power comes from , the more communion the happier you are. I know that there are some that don't believe I understand. Rob thats great thatyou remember that prayer in todays church you can say that prayer and receive communion, years ago you would have to go before the priest and to confession. As you know its lenten season its a good time to renew . One reason why I go every day to church is because I go to Mass with the priest I went to Haiti with. I HAVE BEEN FRIENDS WITH HIM SINCE THE CRADDLE. I go to his Mass every day , if it wasn't for him in my life I would either be very powerful or very dead . I F any time you want to talk about this stuff and our beliefs that would be great.

Einstien stated that creation was the order god used, he stated if there was no god it would have been as difficult to blow a phone book up and have it land in the same order as it was before the explosion.he also stated that gods plan was developed by a very complicated type of mathematics whose name escapes me now , but its the same math einstien used in all his theorys of relativity etc.

I love how people say an overpowering mass is subject to be forced on children. Many whom are not religious say things like this because they fear religion.

I understood roughly 15-20 words out of those.

But while I think religion is fukking stupid and I don't believe in god, I also don't have a problem with religious people for the most part, unless they're way over the top.

And nice catch on the "thank god" thing, I didn't even notice that

I am a Jew so do not have to confess or go to church.

We do not believe in confessions.

                      Oldie but goodie.

                      Nookie Green

An Irish man went to confession in St. Patrick's Catholic Church.
'Father', he confessed, 'it has been one month since my last confession. I had sex with Nookie Green twice last month.'
The priest told the sinner, 'You are forgiven. Go out and say three Hail Mary's.'
Soon thereafter, another Irish man entered the confessional. 'Father, it has been two months since my last confession. I've had sex with Nookie Green twice a week for the past two months.'
This time, the priest questioned, 'Who is this Nookie Green?'
'A new woman in the neighborhood,' the sinner replied.
                      'Very well,' sighed the priest. Go and say ten Hail Mary's.;
At mass the next morning, as the priest prepared to deliver the sermon, a tall,
voluptuous, drop-dead gorgeous redheaded woman entered the sanctuary. The eyes of every man in the church fell upon her as she slowly sashayed up the aisle and sat down right in front of the priest. Her dress was green and very short, and she wore matching, shiny emerald-green shoes.
The priest and the altar boy gasped as the woman in the green dress and matching green shoes sat with her legs spread slightly apart, but just enough to realize she wasn't wearing any underwear.
The priest turned to the altar boy and whispered, 'Is that Nookie Green?'
The bug-eyed altar boy couldn't believe his ears but managed to calmly reply, 'No Father, I think it's just a reflection from her shoes'.

I went last week. It was a big relief telling Father Virgil my Sins. I need to do it more often.
