www.kayak.com lets you modify on the fly and changes your cost and options realtime. it uses expedia and all major websites including the airline sites to get the best rate. I flew round trip first class from Dallas to Vegas for $529 with 7 days notice.

I like travelocity and then go to the last minute deals, it usually includes a hotel and flight for fairly cheap.....And you can upgrade the hotel etc if you want......

I looked at alot of the discount sites for a Vegas trip the wife and I are doing this Nov. After comparing all the prices it actually came out better for me to book my flights directly thru the airline (American). I was able to get round trip tickets from FL for $350 each.
As far as hotels go,that just seemed to be a matter of how much $ you want to spend. I booked directly thru the hotel/casino web site.
Im stoked about this trip, been to the Gulf Coast casinos in MS,LA, and have been on cruises with casinos, but this our 1st trip to Vegas.
Good luck on your trip.

Kayak.com combined with Vegas.com.
Vegas.com has a 150% low-price guarantee, so shop around and book there. I took advantage of this offer on my recent trip to TheRX Bash.

Southwest airlines is usually a good starting point for airfare, it ran me about $215 roundtrip from the Northeast for Vegas.

if you book southwest during the weekdays, you might get a girl on the airplane then your trip will be a lot more enjoyable.
from my experience, just book directly from jetblue or southwest website...they're pretty cheap. and i recommend to stay at suncoast and rent a car when you get there. i love suncoast because the odds are good, the casino is more loose on the comps and the hotel room are really nice and cheap. i remmeber i paid 80 dollar a night and it was a huge room with a wall to floor window overlook the golf course. very nice. and it is close to the shopping district (for locals), where all the nice resturant and shops are. it is one of my favorate place to stay when i visit vegas during the nfl season.
but now i have gold membership at star alliance, i tend to fly united because i get free upgrades.
have fun in vegas, but avoid the strip...especially bally/ paris paris...those two casinos are filled with assholes.
