Guys, if you didn't see the video posted yesterday about the online poker players please watch as soon as possible. Don't just watch but seriously pay attention and try very hard to really look beyond simply what the camera shows.
Fella's, even though you are some of the more detailed, analytical, and perhaps most intelligent memebers of SBR you may one day soon if not already suffer from some of the same social disfunctions as these online poker players already suffer from.
I say take a break from you calculators and models and get out. Log off for a couple days and just get out there and mingle with ordinary people. It may take some time to adjust but if you don't, you may never again. Just put those pocket protectors on your desk, take off the sweater vest and go get crazy in public. Naturally you will be mocked and razzed at first because you will obviously be awkward but ignore the jeers and continue. Soon enough you will start to get the hang of things and be able to interact with normal people in everyday settings.
I say this to you guys not as some sort of joke but because even less degenerate more nerdy SBR'ers are my forum brothers as well and I only want the best for all.
Justin7, you can take the lead. Sort of the Pide Piper of the Sliding Rule. Maybe make a video for fellow Tankers of a night out at a club. Show them that smart guys with mad math skills can still get on the dance floor and throw down. Give a how to approach to picking up the ladies without having to explain the ratio of men to women in a certain demographic means they have a 23:1 chance of being totally unnoticed.
Justin, you are camera savy, this is something you could pull off. You give great insight when it comes to numbers now is the time to do something for the greater good and your fellow math wizards.
