JACKSON, CA - Two people were injured and sheriff's deputies detained up to five others, including the alleged gunman, in an early morning shooting at the Jackson Rancheria Casino, according to officials.
The shooting happened around 6 a.m. Sunday inside the casino located on New York Ranch Road, Jackson Rancheria Casino and Hotel CEO Rich Hoffman said.
The unidentified man shot two other men on the casino floor near Bud's Burgers restaurant, and fled the scene toward an adjacent parking garage. Hoffman said the two victims were taken to local hospitals with unknown injuries.
Amador County Sheriff's deputies spent the rest of the morning setting up a perimeter and sweeping the parking garage, searching for the man. Casino patrons were not allowed in or out of the building.
Hoffman said officials eventually located the alleged gunman and two others possibly involved sometime before 11:30 a.m. Hoffman said two other people were detained in a car on Highway 89 shortly after the shooting, but it was not immediately clear how they were connected to the case.
The 24-hour casino's parking garage was deemed secure and reopened a short time later.
