Interesting Documentary Series About Poker

Posting this because I thought some would enjoy. The name of the series is Busto To Robusto. It is produced by Ryan Firpo and the people behind the DeucesCracked poker training site.

Some may have seen the first video with Captain Zeebo but the 2nd is up today for a limited time only (i think they have website issues that need to be resolved before it is permanently hosted).

The two part series (they are making a movie AFAIK) chronicles the lives of a few successful online poker players. The links are provided below for your enjoyment.

I'm a live poker player also. It would just suck to know you got ass raped by that fu(king nerd and his fat GF in their white trash living room. I can't handle that online poker for REAL $$$$. That kid can't even look people in the eye. If he was always raising calls, he would last two seconds at a club. Guys would talk smack and crack him. He can hide behind the internet and do all the damage he wants, but he is not getting my $$$$.

Watching the second episode was really depressing. The guy is only 22 but looks like atleast 4 years older than his actual age. Playing poker for side income is alot of fun but playing for a living must be tough.

I actually think the first guy Zeebo is okay. He seems to have a down to earth understanding of what he wants in life and what a downswing can do to your mental health. Granted he's a über geek, but he seems like a nice person.

The other guy (good2cu) is tilting me big time. As Yi said he looks way older than 22 and his reasoning seems a bit out of touch with reality. Plus his laughter makes me wanna jump off a building. His work out routine is a joke as well. The life in Vegas looks fun even though the kid has no class.

I did not get that impression of the 2nd guy.

He looked like he was going to shit his pants after he got continually smacked by Mr.X

I could see the thoughts going through his head: "The hot little skinny model bitch won't be around much longer if I keep donking off my chips to this amateur".

I got the vibe that the 2nd guy was a good tourny player but an ape at the cash game tables (sort of a Phil Helmuth type).

Booze, drugs and complete felting sure to be in the near future here. While the first guy is socially disfunctional he is at least aware and up front about his disorder. The second guy is icing over his disfunctions and drowning them in booze and the parties. His crash will ultimately be more volitale.

Here's a 79 page thread on the documentary with Zeebo posting periodically throughout the thread. It looks like he got on some meds and is slowly gravitating away from poker and becoming a normal human being. Good for him.
