Hasn't this been an issue for a while? Haven't been with DirectTV since football season and i remember seeing information regarding this in my bill before football season? none the less it sucks when this shit happens....

I'm not big on the stuff Versus has, but I do watch hockey, and Versus hasn't been on since atleast hockey season started. I hope they get there act together before the Tour De France however. That sporting event usually kicks of the gamblin season for me, but I gotta watch the 6 hours of coverage to et the feel for how the riders are doing every day, and if Versus isn't available, I fear that I won't be as sharp as usual.

How about the ESPNClassic, where the hell did that go?

I do miss Versus, I have to watch the WEC events streaming online now. It sucks because I there are lots of shows I used to watch on that channel.

Versus Returns to DIRECTV

Versus has returned to the DIRECTV channel lineup, available to DIRECTV customers on channel 603 in standard and high definition. Sports fans can now enjoy more sports than ever on DIRECTV.

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. and PHILADELPHIA, March 15, 2010 –– DIRECTV and Comcast have reached an agreement to return VERSUS to the DIRECTV programming lineup today. The terms of the deal were not disclosed.

VERSUS will return to the same DIRECTV programming packages it was in at the end of August 2009.

"We are pleased that both sides were able to work out a satisfactory deal to bring this programming back to our customers," said Derek Chang, executive vice president, Content Strategy and Development, DIRECTV.

We're excited that we were able to come to a fair agreement that puts VERSUS back in millions of homes with DIRECTV in time for our busy spring programming schedule," said Jamie Davis, president of VERSUS. "We look forward to super–serving these fans with NHL regular–season and playoff coverage, our first live UFC event and much more."

But I just noticed today, so I had to search to see when it came back.

I agree, they need to get HD ESPNU! Such a huge difference when you are watching a good HD game on ESPN then you don't have it on ESPNU. Make it happen!

i had directv for a while and found it bizarre how many sports channels they did not offer in HD. they always claim they are the most sports friendly provider as well, but i can't bring myself to watch sports in non-HD anymore.

I have had Directv since 2000. It is by far the best choice you can have! Most people in Santa Barbara have Cox Cable, I am in the minority around here with Directv.

Most of their sports channels are HD, it is up to the channel to broadcast in HD. Like ESPN, they still do some mid major games in Standard Def, and there should be no reason to. Get those cameras replaced with HD ones.

I'm with you on the non-HD thing, it is hard for me to watch anything in Standard Def.
