    Hedge?
Hey guys, I'm still fairly new to this stuff but have been doing fairly well...I have this bet in play right now:
    Pending 4 Team Parlay
    Pending 3/12/10 12:00pm NCAA Basketball 833 St. Bonaventure/Temple Over 123 -110*
    Pending 3/12/10 12:00pm NCAA Basketball 834 Temple -9½ -110* vs St. Bonaventure
    Pending 3/12/10 12:00pm NCAA Basketball 841 Michigan/Ohio State Over 120 -110*
    Pending 3/12/10 12:00pm NCAA Basketball 842 Ohio State -8½ -110* vs Michigan

Three of the 4four plays are looking good at the moment, the Mich/OSU Over 120 can happen but I'm not feeling good about it. 5Dimes has the 2nd half Over/Under at 66 so if i bet on that under would that be considered hedging? or something like it? And should I do it?

If you have an opportunity to hedge then yes HEDGE.

Always guarantee a profit when given the chance. Guys who let it ride only one word can explain that decision... greed.

Be smart and make money when you can in this tough game.

So then taking the under would be a good idea? And now that I think about it, I can take the under 66 and still win on both

i think hedging in a parlay is ok. never hedge at halftime of a straight up bet if its looking good. just my 0.02

guess you hedged the wrong one....I only hedge a parlay if 3 of the 4 are already winners, then hedge against the 4th team. Not when two plays are at halftime and one just "looks good"

Good news is, since I never got a "yes" I didn't put in the bet, so I only lost the first bet
