The Yankees won 103 games last year and went on to beat the Phillies in the World Series in six games. These guys are good every year simply because they make and spend more money than any other team. Every team in their division got better in the offseason, so they better not think they can just cruise back into the playoffs in 2010.

Whats to Like: Their whole infield literally has a chance to end up in the Hall of Fame. That's just stupid. Arod and Jeter are 2 of the greatest ever, Cano is on track to be great, and Teixeira is a switch hitting machine that is on pace to hit over 600 Homeruns. They brought in Nick Johnson to DH and play first, he's a proven hitter that draws tons of walks, good fit for this team.

Sabathia delivered as expected in his first year with the Yanks,I see no reason he wont come back this year and have another great year. A.J.Burnett seems to have finally put it all together and along with C.C. they are one of the best 1-2 punches in MLB.

M.Rivera is the greatest closer ever and somehow opposing batters still havent figured out this guys cutter. I know its coming, they know is coming, hell, Onthewhat even knows what this guys gonna throw and he still dominates. One of lifes greatest mysteries. P.Hughes and J.Chamberlain should fill the set up roles if neither ends up in the rotation. C. Gaudin is a solid middle relief guy who can also spot start if anyone goes down.

Curtis Granderson was traded for to play centerfield and bat leadoff. No doubt this guy is a solid young player but he must improve hitting left handed pitching. (.183 last year)

Whats not to Like: For a team that is suppose to repeat as champs there are some things I would be worried about if I was a Yankee fan.

First off, I dont like their outfield at all, Nick Swisher is one of the most over rated fukks in the game, I seriously think his mouth and clubhouse antics are keeping him on this team. Randy Winn was a bad signing, this guy needed steroids to be good 6-8 years ago, what makes you think he can help a team now? B.Gardner is a Jacoby Ellsbury wannabee that is nothing more than a decent defensive replacement. They better hope Granderson hits .290 with 35 Homeruns to make up for the fukks they have surrounded him with.

Mark my words, J.Posada will get hurt this year, wont hit 20 Homeruns, and will be lucky to hit above .275.. He is just about done and F.Cervelli is no stud of a backup. A.Pettitte will start to decline this year also, he's getting very close to the top of the hill.

Everyone is excited that they brought in J.Vazquez to strengthen the rotation. Only one problem, they tried this before in 2004 and it didnt work. Some people just cant play in New York, dont know why this is, but Vazquez is one of these guys. Expect a down year from Javier. He'll probably win 12 games with a 4.60 ERA.

Derek Jeter is getting old and fat.. do you fukks that defend this guy really think he can play forever? The problem this guy is going to have is that they have nowhere to move him. The only reasonable thing to do is let him DH his last couple years before he gets ready for the Hall, but this will never happen. You cant win titles with slow, fat , shortstops.. should be interesting to see what they do.

Their Depth sucks.. this is really not that big a deal since they just rent a new player when they need one, but sometimes you dont find the exact guy you need..and trust me, they will need a couple rent-a-players this year.. Every team in the AL East has improved over the off season so the Yanks will not be able to just coast into the Post Season.

Recap: There is no doubt the Yankees will be good this year, I just dont think they will be great. All good things come to an end and this is the year the Empire starts to crumble. Will they win 95 games? Not with the team they have now, but with the money they spend you never know. They could bring in 2 Superstars at the break. For this reason alone I'd say keep your play small on the Under 94.5 Wins

Saying Posada's done is one thing, you never know when a catcher is going to hit the wall. But Jeter? Jeter did nothing but improve his defense last season, getting to balls up the middle that he hadn't gotten to since 2003. I watch this guy every game and is he the best defensive shortstop? Of course not. Everyone knows the Gold Glove is a reputation award. But to say he's getting worse is flat out wrong. He's got at least two or three great years at shortstop before they even have to think about moving him. That being said, everything else is pretty dead on. Expect more wins from Vazquez than 12, but the ERA being in the mid 4s wouldn't surprise me.
