I stay buying 1080p HDTVs for $399 on sale. Good size and good quality.

Or you can spend 10x on whatever the marketing guys of those companies are trying to push you to buy.

OLED is probably even better tbh.

    I think only Samsung sells a 78"

I'm sure it looks sweet on the side of a mobile home...

    Another thing to think about....

Even though cable and satellite providers say all channels are transmitted in HD.... I have 2 very good TV's in my house.... and sometimes on Fox Sports.... the picture looks like sh#$. So, personally.... I wouldn't say get yourself... the cheapest HD TV on the market... just get something reasonable. I don't think anyone should invest in a 4K TV right now.

I mean.... how in the hell can you get better than a HD picture? I think everything right now is just a gimmick to get you to BUY BUY BUY BUY BUY.

I wouldn't buy one if you have a perfectly good HDTV. My 4 year old plasma blows away any 1080p led. HOWEVER, if you are replacing one or wanting to go larger then you would be a fool to buy a 1080p, especially 55" and larger. 55" LG and Samsung 4Ks start out at around $700. And stay away from cheap brands, Samsung, Sony, and LG are where its at.

Vizio is a good value for the picture quality and features you get as they use other manufacturers' parts (Sony and LG I believe). Reliability is what is keeping them from being a top 2/3 brand.

Longevity is the issue from reviews I've read.

    Customer support is 50/50

I recommend buying an extended warranty for 5-6 years ($250.00) Max. There are several reputable extended warranty companies out there. Just check their ratings first. Reason why I'd go warranty is... if one of the back lights burn out on an LED TV... you're pretty much fukked.
