    Albert Pujols salary

As an angel fan maybe I'm just pissed off that he doesn't have a hit yet even though it's only been 2 games. But where does this rank in terms of the worst contract of all time? I believe he's getting 25 million this year at 36 years old.

not baseball but i put derek fisher at top or very close to. he stole $37 million + from warriors and jazz. then $14 million from lakers when he rejoined. THEN stole another $25 million when knicks paid him to leave as failed coach. now i see him on nba network cashing more checks. at least pujols did a little for his abomination of a deal. numbers may be a little off here or there but this guy got ten of millions for zilch

and people wonder why things have gone to shit

Cardinals fan here. I love watching it so much. We just soaked in 10 absolutely amazing years with him, MVP caliber years of Hall of Fame stats, and then you guys pay him that much more than us? Fine, take him, look at his last 3 years with us, every single stat declining - avg, hrs, rbis, etc. You guys are going to be paying a player $30 million A YEAR to bat .220 and hit 15 home runs for about 3 years from 2018 -2020, it's going to be atrociously bad.

Apparently tv networks keep the game going. My question is this: who watches baseball?

Where does it rank in terms of the worst contract of all time? Not even near close enough to even discuss it. Hell, Bobby Bonilla is still getting paid and he hasn't played since 2001. He'll be getting paid by the Mets until he's 72.

Jordan Zimmerman projected to go 12-11 with close to a 4 ERA and is making $22,000,000 a season. $1,833,333.33 a win. Joke.

Gotta love Cardinals decision to let him go
the very same year they allowed him to leave
and Angels signed away their financial souls for 10 years
he started doing shitty.... the ... very ... first ....year

Cardinals won't overpay for anyone. If you're willing to give a Cards player a huge contract, you're pretty much going to get him. And you have to realize you're not going to get the same caliber of player the Cardinals had. Just how it goes.

I remember when he signed this contract everyone was saying, so what's going to happen after he gets old and doesn't produce anymore.

What was Hamilton's contract? Pujols might not have even had the worst contract on his own team! Hamilton couldn't even put the ball in play, was perpetually injured and was a junkie with LA. He was so bad they gave him back to a division rival. That's unheard of. You don't play nice with teams in your own division on trades/deals.

What he achieved in his career with the Cardinals alone makes up for his decreased production in Anaheim. Guy deserves every last penny owing to him, give him half a dozen games before laying into him. The guy is still one of the best power hitters in the game.
