I think Richie said he stopped drinking.

I wonder if his doctor told him to quit for medical reasons, or whether it was just because he couldn't stay away from the yayo when he was drunk.

Well, he did just recently go an a spree and bought a bunch of high end electronics, TV, PS3, etc.
So it seems like he's okay with cash for now. Hopefully.
