i tried it with rental cars couple of times. you step on the brakes and hit the gas pedal to rev up the rear wheels. to do a slide turn is a bit tricky because you kinda need a more sporty car to do it...too much jerky motions if you want to do it with a sedan. i usually rent a mustang from avis or hertz and practice my slide turns. much more easy when the ground is wet. pick a big empty parking lot, so when you spin out of control, you're not gonna hit anything.
