Woman charged with leaving 2 youngsters alone at Foxwoods
Waterbury (AP) _ A Waterbury woman supervising two children for the state Department of Children and Families has been arrested on charges of leaving the youngsters alone at Foxwoods Resort Casino.

Louise T. Andolina was charged with two counts of leaving a child unattended in a place of public accommodation.

She said she believed it was safe because it was occupied. Andolina was supervising the girls, who are nine and eleven years old, for the state agency over the weekend. "I gave them $5 apiece to play."

State police said the girls were unaccompanied for about two and a half hours.

Bond was set at $2,500. Andolina's next appearance is scheduled for Sept. 13 at New London Superior Court.

-Whenever I hit the local casinos here in CT, there are always a ton of people who bring small kids and babies. Keep in mind, the casino here aren't like Vegas, with a lot of family attractions. Every other week there is a story about some jackass leaving a kid in the car up there while they go in and gamble. On my way out I like to heckle these a$$holes with comments like, "Nice place to bring the kids."....."wonderful bunch of parents in here."

When you gamble your mind gets clouded no matter what the circumstances.

Not to defend bad parents like this mother but in 1965,this was acceptable behavior.

Now with satellite t.v.and instant information about perverts on the loose on every street corner it's hair raising to leave your kid out of site for a split second. You can blame allot of it too on the dysfunctional criminal underclass blossoming from the new deal and great society where it's reached an epedemic decades later. We live in a Jerry Springer society where government created morons are the prey of evil government created morons.

But back in the 60's it was commonplace for 5 years olds on up to walk alone to the corner store to buy candy or walk to the neighborhood playground or sandlot to play baseball alone. In today's nanny state the parents that allowed that would go to jail.

So here we have the government ''social workers''creating and rewarding the violent underclass to expand and when kids are left alone by their parents the social workers make a living re educating and doing mind alterations on them.Do you think we have a racket going on here that perpetuates the need for more government in our lives?

Look at the Sunday engagement section in the newspaper. The vast majority of women and even many men make their living being government social working councilors and behavioral therapist mind control mdifiers. It's all useless makework. We have Keynesian economics and are now a socialist country.

I do that as well to people who think retail stores are babysitting outlets. If you don't want to be bothered with kids don't have any.

            Heckle? Why?

My wife and I take our 3-year old to Foxwoods all the time ... and we don't gamble when he is with us ... we go to the buffet and eat ... the food is good, and my son can all the crap he wants, ad we don't have to wait 30 minutes for some waitress to take our order ... because if we go to a regular restaurant, my son doesn't have the patience to sit for more than 30 minutes

Most casino's around here have a child care center in them nowadays. Surely they had to have something similar up there at Foxwoods no?

I am sure they do Dan but I feel that children should not be brought to a casino; imagine a 3 year old seeing JJGOLD? That kid would be traumatized for life.

Saw this one last week... another reason to legalize online gambling (so these idiots can stay at home with their kids)...

Oklahoma City police arrested a woman Wednesday night, accusing her of leaving her 5-year-old daughter alone in a car outside the Remington Park Casino for more than half an hour while the woman gambled, a police spokesman said.

Lavader Patrice Furman, 29, was arrested on a complaint of child abandonment, Sgt. Daniel Stewart said. Furman's home address was not released Wednesday night.

The girl, who was found in the parking lot, was placed in the care of the state Department of Human Services.

Casino security officers called police about 9:25 p.m., Stewart said.

When police arrived, they found the car's keys and a purse had been left inside the vehicle, and food had been left in the car for the girl.

It sure is Pico.....not uncommon to have to stand in line an hour just to get into the buffet, same thing at Mohegan. They have some good buffets up there though.

Being a dad of an 8 year old, it's just my opinion that I wouldn't want him at the casino with me. No reason to bring him. There are plenty of local places to shop and eat near my house.

If you leave your kid in the parking garage while you gamble.......you deserve a trip to the woodshed for 500 lashings.
