Just wanted to share a blog entry I thought was important, hopefully it helps some newbies out and prevents them from losing money.
As a new capper, my biggest drawback is going on tilt way too easily. If I lose a few games, I automatically wanted to, on instinct, bet double or triple and chase on the next available game. This more often than not led to losses. After I came to the realization that I was retarded for doing that, I started working on my discipline. Now, if I have a bad day I log off Bodog (my book) and sign off from the computer until the last game of the day starts. This prevents me from betting something stupid. Hopefully in the future, I will be disciplined enough to not have to do that and just be smart about it. Also, I found that sometimes a little casino action was my medicine for small losses. (I lose 1 or 2 units I think I can gain it back with a quick casino play.) Most of the time, I won money doing that BUT the few times I lost, it put me on tilt and basically lost all of my earnings from the previous winning sessions. In the end, there's no way to beat the house in a casino game, they mess with you and get your hopes up, then take your dough and put you on tilt. To fight this, I have disabled my casino access at bodog to help me put off the stupid urge to lose money. Now I can just focus on capping games, where I actually am good and can win money. Since I have put this strategy in place, I am now at break even and looking to profit with fellow handicappers here at the boards and hopefully give the bookies a run for their money! Just thought i would share, if anyone is new to this and reading this, disable casino access and become disciplined, especially if you plan on doing this as your business. If I would have done this earlier I would be up pretty decent money by now. Live and learn and move forward. Let's make some money
