the west is gonna be tough. I love that staff in seattle, with hernandez, lee, and bedard but that offense is just god awful. that'll hold em back this year, again

Where is the Angels offense now? In Texas and Seattle. Where is Texas' pitching? It's like 7 UP, never had it, never will. I don't want to discuss Oaktown.

Angels had all sorts of injuries early on in last season and then their young pitcher died.

After all that, they still won the division by 12 games.

Without question, the Angels took a step backwards with the Mariners/Rangers taking a step forward but was that step enough to make up at least 12 games?

The bet is the Angels around +200 to win the AL West.

If you can get Angels at +200 and Mariners +210, then doesn't it seem like a good idea to just play those two? Do the rangers stand a chance to take this division? Oakland is obviously not going to have a shot

AL West is way too unpredictable to call the Mariners a lock. I think they'll win, but the Rangers are improved and the Angels are always in the race. I guess I would have to count the A's out, but the other three all have a shot.

Being from Seattle, obviously I like the Mariners to win.

Obviously it's my home team so I'm a bit biased. I've seen the Mariners blow it late in the season way too many times to take this bet.

well I think regardless it is going to be a pretty tight race. I see gt coming down to Seattle and Texas. I think the angels have lost too much

Actually, I believe there offense was pretty bad last year. Near the bottom statistically in the AL.

lol...the M's have taken a step in the right direction to right their ship, but it wont be this season, i think the halos are still the team to beat, yet i also wouldn't be surprised if the rangers are the real challangers in the west

Felix is too unpredictable. He can be great and he can stink it up. I dont like their lineup too well. Its OK at the top, but the bottom isnt too impressive.Ichiro is good and fast but he is getting old. I think Chone Figgins is good, Milton Bradley brings some power. Griffey is too old to still be playing but he and his dad were Seattle so they love him anyway. He will probably finish the season hitting no better than .240.

Cliff Lee should be the #1 starter as he is more dependable than Hernandez. Snell, Fister and Rowland Smith though are all unproven. Also, the bullpen doesnt have anything that great. Maybe they can get a good year out of Mark Lowe.

Still I dont see these mariners winning more than 85-86 games and that might be a stretch. It wont be enough to win this division.

The mariners gained lee but that's it.
Felix is like Jekyll and Hyde and you never know which one is gonna show up and Griffey is my boy but he is getting old and batting cleanup.

I guarantee Felix or Cliff Lee won't approach what they did last year. Couple that with their anemic offense and I dont see to much happening.

Angels will be fine they are a team that is run real well, although I will say other than Oakland and even they if they have alot go right for them have a legitimate shot at winning the AL West
