nick schuyler - USF player who survived boating accident last yr
seems like a solid dude, but there are some issues w/his story. as you all know by now, he is doing the talkshow circuit and appeared on oprah and larry king live yesterday. he knew exact times of what was going on during the ordeal. oprah says how did you know the time? he says corey smith had a waterproof watch on. problem is, after corey was gone, schuyler still knew almost exact times of when things were happening. did he take the watch off corey or did nick just have a strong idea of the time when he was freezing his ass off and experiencing effects of hypothermia?

and last yr, right after he was rescued, several reports came out that nick said his buddy will bleakley was hallucinating and said he saw the shoreline or saw a rescue boat and threw off his lifevest and swam away. now, nick says that bleakley could not get back on the capsized boat because the lifevest got in the way so he threw it aside. which is it? like i said, nick seems like a solid dude but i have a feeling that some serious battles took place on that boat about who should have the prime position of sitting and holding the engine/rudder area, and nick kicked everyone's asses................hence, he is alive and the other 3 are dead

It definitely does seem kind of sketchy, but I don't wanna start doubting his story. Until proven otherwise (which won't happen over course), I'm not gonna speculate...

LOL, yeah he kicked 2 NFL players asses and took control of the situation. We will never know the true details of what went down out there at sea.

Anyone have a link to Schuyler's entire 'Real Sports' interview?

the other 3 'witnesses' are dead so unless nick tells all we'll never know. i'm just saying that there are serious inconsistencies w/what he said last yr after being rescued and what he is saying now. of course, the effects of being out at sea in this horrible situation for 43 hrs probably had him very delusional upon being rescued but some of his statements last yr were made 2 days after being rescued when he was stable. marquise cooper's wife says herself that things he said about the other 3 and what happened last yr are inconsistent w/what he's saying now. i will say this: i won't have a lower opinion of the guy if i found out it became every man for himself out there and there was a struggle/fight for the prime position on that boat, which was clearly on top of the boat holding the engine/rudder

when 2 nfl players are not wearing life vests, are not fully clothed, and are suffering the effects of hypothermia, my 75 yr old grandma could give them a nudge and send them out to sea

FYI: schuyler himself was a former USF football player and was a physical trainer at the time. i bet you he was in as good a shape as the NFLers

Not trying to be a dick but black people are not known as great swimmers.

Even if he did do that, he won't come out and say that. So we will just speculate till the end of time.

Agreed, it's definitely a very good possibility that it became every man for himself out there, and him being in just as good shape as the others, he won. Also gotta agree with you that if this did in fact happen, I wouldn't have a lower opinion of the guy either. Just trying to survive...

                    Too soon man.

For the record, I did laugh though.

Seriously how many black people do you see doing the backstroke in the ocean? Black people are terrified of water.

Both of these topics were on REAL Sports. The boating incident, and the fact that black people cannot swim.
