My lock of this past weekend was Nebraska -21 1/2 over Nevada.Nebraska has it's weaknesses and Nevada is not a patsy but to please the cultist fans and alumni,they try hard to cover the spread.For the powerhouse teams that play the non confrence tune up sparring patrtner patsies the first week or two, Nebraska will do it's best to put a whooping on and cover the spread.
Which gets to my point about which any one state most identifies itself with being the home of a college or pro sports team.There are allot of variables like size of state,size of market,region of team etc. In my opinion per capita the most cult like fans that will miss work to see a game,get in a fist fight if someone badmouths their team or cause domestic abuse if their team loses are from Nebraska for the Huskers and Wisconsin with the Packers.
It flat out amazes me how somewhat smart people who may be doctors and lawyers and such can care so much and believe a team is playing for them where they care about the outcome of a game even if they don't have a bet on it.
I left out Michigan because they have so many teams to divide the state up but I loved it when the Wolverines got beat last weekend.There are so many of these same Kool Aid cultist fans there and they are whacko lefties usually running that madhouse of a college and it was good to see their bubble pop in such demeaning fashion.
