I stopped at a gas station in Kentucky on the way to Georgia. It was like out of a movie. Had this older thug black guy come up and ask me "hey big man you wear gold?" and proceeded to try to pawn me one of his numerous gold chains he had. As this was happening, a woman and her 2 childern walked in (all barefoot) and went and used the bathroom. True story.

I have traveled al over the damn place! Especially all the south. I had a job where I traveled to college towns every week. I absolutely love Athens, GA, but they have the craziest street people, ya know, panhandlers. The second strangest is Chapel Hill, NC. Because even the bums there think they are better than everyone else!

College towns are great! The street people can be annoying but the overall atmosphere is very appealing.

There was this one in Athens who wanted anything you had everyday. I worked for a marketing company so I had free promotional shit all the time. These bastards would drive you crazy, especially after you had to put up with them all week.
One Sat morn I took the day off & me & my employee walked down to the starbucks across from campus & got a coffee & sat out front. Beautiful day, around 10:00am anout 78 degrees. This same fukin idiot comes around the corner & has a gash in his head & is bleeding! When he comes around the corner I'm the first guy he sees setting on the patio. He says, in a panicked out of breath voice,

"I just got hit in the head with a brick, can i have a quarter?" real fast!!

I spit coffee all over the fukin place. You had to see this bleedin idiot to get the full amusement and the way he said it. He has a massive head wound & wants a quarter. Like him gettin in a bum fight & obviously losing entitles him to a quarter from me. You can't make this shit up & it's not available in stores!

If you want to "cathc up" on what is going on in certain cities to prepare you for issues that may be at hand...listen to 97.1 fm (1270 am) out of Detroit int he evenings...they have a local show that is on for a few hours that covers sports and their city issues. Also, check out WSPD 1370 out of Toledo...the local morning show is on from 6 am to 9 am. Both of theses cities are in dire need of budget cuts, ect. I have been learning alot from their shows and the callers who offer their opinions as well. Just a thought if you want to step out of the box so to say.
