Matchbook hanging on numbers way too long....
Matchbook seems to have a new strategy this year of hanging on numbers no matter what.

So you end up seeing things like:

    Mich St -20.5 -135
    UAB +20.5 +130

Nobody wants this, it reduces volume to almost a standstill, and makes Matchbook almost unusable.

They have to get their act together. This was not the case last year, they moved immediately almost always on pinnacles moves.

        Im not a scalper.

Im making a point that having a line of 20.5 -135 defeats the purpose of having a spread. A spread is designed to level the game, not slightly level it.

The bottom line is that if you look at MB right now, the games closer to the real number have volume, and the others dont.

It is what it is. If there is a reason, then fine, Im just trying to understand the logic.

Just spoke with MB, they are working it out.

          All is good.

I guess they are just working out the kinks week 1.

I agree remmy. I like it. You can get the right numbers at any other sportsbook. Plus matchbook many times puts up more than one spread so you can get a more realistic line if you want it.

yeah, they were pretty good about this during college hoops season, but the Nebraska/ Nevada juice was in the 130ish range as well...good to hear they are working on it...

Thanks vanzack for talking to Matchbook about this issue... Although they do offer alternate lines for some games, I personally don't like their stale lines either. What's so difficult about revising or adding lines anyway?
