Back to business: Tremendous value with Philadelphia -1.5 (+225) at Tampa Bay
Well fellas you haven't heard much from me lately as the NHL was on their Olympic hiatus, and what an event that was. Great for the sport, great for the country, a Gold would have been nice but I could'nt be any prouder of our boys.

I've made a few college basketball picks but by no means feel credible enough at it to recommend plays to you in that consistently, and to be brutally honest I have been running like complete dog crap in it - you can arguably fade me in NCAAB.

That being said, the 1st quarter of 2010 NHL has been a good one and I look to keep that going.

Tonight's play takes out to Tampa Bay as the Lightning host the Philadelphia Flyers.

    Some factors of note here.

As crazy as it is to say as they claimed him off waivers, Michael Leighton is one of the NHL's hottest goalies of late. Combine that with the fact that he did not go through the recent grind of the Olympics, and you have to think he will be sharp here.

Many of you have probable seen me complaining about Jeff Carter's treatment in Vancouver. He shows up being told he is the fill in if Getzlaf can't make it, and instead of someone letting him know he goes into the locker room to use his stall and locker and finds nothing for him and Getzlaf standing there.

To me Carter is the kind of player who sometimes needs a chip on his shoulder. He is arguably one of the most talented players in the NHL, and most people, depsite how productive he has been, have expected more. We now have a well rested Carter who already was en fuego heading into the break pissed off at his treatment in Vancouver.

I look for him to be dominant and have to have a huge impact on this game.
Overall the Flyers have been hot winning their last 4 games and Tampa Bay has lost their last 3.

Special teams has the Flyers having a significantly better Power Play this year than the Lightning and their shorthanded unit has been a little more effective than Tampa's.

Chris Pronger put a call out to the Flyers heading into their series with the Devils that now was the time to rise up, and since then they are 4-0 in crucial games - sweeping a home and home against NJ and then doing the same to Montreal including their last game which was a 6-2 laugher.

All this and we get a lofty price of +225? Sign me up.

10 Units on a tremendous value here. Sorry Tocchey Hockey, you are legend but bad spot for your club here.

As always good luck tonight all, take it down.

What a 3rd period. That's 5-0 last 5 games, sweeps of the Devs and Habs, 13-4 goal differential last 2 games on the road.

            Look out.

Good stuff steve- we need a fukkin goalie though and we only have a few hours to get one.

Not only are the flyers my favorite team, but they're definitely the most resilient in the NHL. I'm not the biggest Jeff Carter fan, but when he shows up to play he is one of top tier players in the NHL.
