Did Michael Jordan upset Lebron James or something?

Maybe it's a sign he's staying in Cleveland?Comment -

#4Lebron said last year that he believe no one should ever wear the number 23. So he is changing his number!Comment -

#6Understandable, Jordan was/is an idol of a generation. Honoring him by not wearing his number is a nice reason, but picking 6, which was worn by Dr J and Bill Russell is a little bit odd, especially for a historian of the game like Lebron.Comment -

#8LOL, yeah LeBron is doing it to honor Jordan like the other guys said. He should switch it to a number hardly anyone has ever had, like a 77 our something.Comment -

#10I love how people just automatically believe his "I'm doing it to honour Jordan" reason. Seven years in the league and he decides to respect Jordan's number now?Comment -

#23Well, Jordan won his first title in his 7th season and this year is Lebron's 7th season.
In Jordan's first 7 seasons he had won ROY, All-Star MVP, Defensive POY, MVP and Finals MVP. Also All-NBA 1st (x5), All-NBA 2nd, All-Defensive 1st (x4) and All-Rookie 1st.
In Lebrons first 6 seasons he had won ROY, All-Star MVP (x2) and MVP. Also All-NBA 1st (x3), All-NBA 2nd (x2), All Defensive 1st and All Rookie 1st.
Their careers are pretty much on track with each others in regards to awards and honors. The only thing Lebron is missing is the chip. Might have a shot this year. I think it comes out the East this year.Comment -

#24What you all don't realize is that he's looking far far into the future. He knows that when it's all said and done, he will be in the talks of "all-time" and will expect the same "cross NBA permanent # retire" gesture. Clearly he couldn't do it with #23 which is why he's pushing for the league wide honor of it.
6 is the new 23Comment
