Why does 5dimes need so much personal info?
Went to make a deposit there with my **** card and they needed a whole shitload of information.

For starters, the last 4 digits of my SSN.

Then I felt like I was going through a questionairre as I was being asked which road I lived closest by, where I lived in 1988, what year my car was, etc...and the thing was that it was multiple choice and a correct answer was provided so it was like they knew (and so it was all just security verification).

I was shocked to see the sportsbook have this kind of information, even if it is just through their **** processor. I closed out of my account and decided not to make the deposit.

Deposited half of what I was going to put there into Matchbook. So now I've got some money ready to put somewhere...I'm thinking Bodog maybe? Currently have money at BetJam, BetPhoenix, and now Matchbook. Taking suggestions...

I can understand your frustration but they must be getting hit unusually hard (charge backs) from gambler's who bet over their head. A shame actually

I suspect the last four of the social can be verified against the card.

I know bodog is great for dogs...nothing wrong with that. I'll take lines inflated by squares and love it.

It's so bad, my bank called me to ask if my 5Dimes transaction was a legitimate charge. Their fraud dept called me on it.

I don't believe they have access to that information, but I'm an ignorant American that always under-estimates his government's ability to not protect it's citizens.

It's a verification service they use.

i recently opened an account with them, made my initial deposit and contacted them via live chat, to inform them of my bonus choice. the operator wanted to confirm my account id and password.

i asked whether he should be asking for my password as this should be confidential ? he informed me that my password was already visible to him and this was standard procedure.

their t&c... "Members are solely responsible for their account transactions and should keep their account information confidential. Should a member give away, share, or lose his or her account number and/or password, 5Dimes Sportsbook & Casino will not be held liable for any claims regarding that account."

wtf ... their operators have my password visible to them and could easily use it themselves or pass it on to others, along with all the other info they hold on me, which from the above post, they seem to be able to access quite alot. and they want to hold account holders solely responsible.

surely my password should be encrypted on their system so its not visible to their clerks. especially since they are A+ rated and recommended by SBR.

but hey im new to this, maybe they should have my password... in case i miss a good bet and they could go and put it on for me.

All it is a generic identification system, just like western union uses when they ask you to call in to verify your first online transaction... neteller used to use it as well. I don't mind it, it's more logical to ask on the front end, unlike other books who want all your information come withdrawal time under the guise of "fraud prevention"
