What this is is nothing more than a political shake down.
    Plain and simple.
Once the AG saw the ledger of FanDuel and DraftKing they were all "we want a piece of this"
If those two fantasy sites were making chump change, this would be a non story.

Now if for instance the heads of FanDuel and the heads of the Attorney General's office were to meet behind closed doors and agree to a hypothetical, say 20 percent tax on profits to be paid to NY state, how fast do you think the AG's office make a public statement along the lines of something like this "Our bad, we thought this was gambling, but this is a game of skill, carry on business as usual"?

If they shut the fantasy sites down, I'll live, I like to play there, but I'll live.
The hypocricy here is New York State has no problem running keno games in bars which is a total dart throw but finds DFS not a game of skill which it clearly is.

Over 600,000 people in NY play on Fanduel. Schneiderman took almost 50k from gambling and casino companies last year. That right there tells you why he is targeting Fanduel and draftkings.

NY AG took 48K from the casinos to get elected. I wonder why hes out to get the DFS sites. What a scum ball.

A daily fantasy sports company not named DraftKings or FanDuel has called out the New York State Attorney General. Andrew Busa, Founder and CEO of FantasyHub, says that New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman has improperly targeted the daily fantasy industry while turning a blind eye to gambling and casino companies that line his pockets.
In an email titled, “An aggressive response against New York’s actions on DFS,” Busa writes, “Last year alone Eric Schneiderman took in $48,750 in campaign contributions from gambling and casinos companies; this doesn’t include $37,250 from Cantor Fitzgerald, one of the largest private partnerships on Wall Street, and in the past decade moved in to many industries including gambling. Cantor Gaming controls over 30% of the Nevada sports wagering market. Where is their cease and desist?”

What a greedy group of stats nerds. Raking 100 million each last year wasn't enough so they flood the market with ads and put a huge target on their backs. Also looked the other way while pros demolish the average customers rolls with 100 buyins to a single tournament and allowed employees to play on competitors sites. They should all get fkd.

Personally, I'm glad because I'm a bitter sob who still can't move money onto a poker site legally so I say gfy to all the DF whiners and their "game of skill"

Dude, it should all be legal, sports betting, DFS, & poker. Just because you got a bunch of greedy fuks in the gaming Ind that own the politicians & want to control the money. Is no reason to take it out on someone else who plays DFS.

Don't let the old fuks like Sheldon Adelson win. You can buy a lottery ticket, bet on horses, or go to there casinos. But you can't play poker or DFS online. Total BS.

Obviously I believe it should all be legal, but it's not. Nothing was more tilting than seeing those fkn commercials and I'm glad those pro blowing scammer fks DK and FD got what they deserve. John Q Public was getting shafted by the greedy sites and their big money regs plain and simple, so yeah I'm glad it's coming to light and these sht companies will be held accountable.

No doubt the commercials are a pain in the ass. The sites even admitted that. But they still have found no wrong doing with the sites, even the guy that works for DK that won money on FD did it the right way. His winning lineup was in before he new the player %'s. Even with that info its no easy way to win.

Its just the news blowing shit out of proportion, by the way all those rich fuks own the media to.

Also the guys that created these sites. Are guys that were poker players that were fuked by the UIGA. The sites took the laws in mind when they made them.

Haven't read what others have said in here but let me give you my intake on something I've been involved in for 3+ years:

DFS is not luck... There is luck involved. YES it is gambling BUT it is based on skill. You are competing against others who have the same salary and same group of players to choose from. I would LOVE for legislators to deposit $100 and see how long they can make it last if they truly think its "luck".

TONS of people play this. This isn't some small portion of population.... It's a large part of American livelihood now.

FD and DK have done things right by sending tax forms on winners.... No acknowledgement of that from our legislators.

Lets kill tons of jobs, tons of tax income for our government who desparately needs it, excitement, AND not to mention the amount of popularity it would take out of many pro sports. I'll tell you now, I'd watch 1% of the NBA games I watch now if i couldn't play DFS NBA games...

It's a fukking mockery that our government is more concerned with DFS than goddamn racial wars going on inside of our boundaries. I can't believe that they've made such a big deal out of such a harmless hobby.

I agree the recent "scandal" was just media BS but I'm talking about them allowing a few dozen regs to enter thousands of lineups in the big multis and make it have nothing to do with skill for the normal joes playing a lineup or two on sundays. I quit a few seasons ago when I started seeing these guys just dominate the payouts. You'd see the same names 150 times in the top 200 because they played so many cards. I'm not interested in that kind of volume to keep up so quit.

There's no law that makes fantasy sports for money legal friend. The NFL and the other leagues got the carveout in the UIGEA to protect their interests but that's simply a carveout for processing money, not the legality of DF for $.

Once the DOJoke decides to act the partys really over guys. This is a state issue for now but they're already looking into this. You'll all be looking at this screen crossing your fingers that your moneys safe...

I agree, on the multi lineup shit. There is always someone that try's to scam the system. I would liken it to the re-buys in poker. I never played re-buys, & I only enter single entry contest in DFS.

There needs to be some regulation put in place, & the sites are asking for it. But the special interest just wants to shut it down.
I live in Mich & there is no law that makes DFS legal or illegal, same goes for poker online. There's nothing on the books.

Just like everything else in the world it all comes down to money. I have no disagreement with your statement.

Yes they have to make some changes to the way they do business. But just like gambling some will win, & for the most part there will be more people that lose. I can do without DK or FD. Just don't make it against the law. But I do think that people that lose need to blame someone & there just blaming the sites.

Same with bullshit toll roads. The East/West expressway in Orlando was supposed to charge a toll only long enough to pay for itself. 10 years later the toll road was paid for 5x over and what did the politicians say? "Due to the tremendous response of the public, we've decided to keep the toll permanently. WTF? Tremendous response? You didn't have a fukkin choice.
