I was thinking the same thing. But seriously, be careful. And be sure you have never cut any corners on your taxes or anything else. These things tend to never end with all the appeals and counter suits and God only knows what else. That could cut into your posting time so I'm kind of against it.

if he is commiting tax fraud you can turn him to the IRS, and he will not know it was you. they keep it confidential.
if after investigation by IRS he is found to be defrauding the system you will get a reward.
however I have heard it usaully takes yrs before a reward is given.
the amount of the reward depends on how big the case was

i also dislike people that do this kind of stuff. however, id stay out of someone else's business in a matter like this. imagine if the roles were reversed somehow and he was ratting you out. you'd probably want to kill the guy.

I would obtain video or picture evidence BEFORE you turn him in. Then, as stated if it is tax fraud contact your local IRS office, this can be found on their website. You WILL get a reward based on a percentage of the recovery as other posters have noted. Nothing wrong with diming on someone who is scamming the system, they are making it harder for people like you and me.

It isn't a sure thing, guy has to be found guilty. Also, it is only 15% of the amount recovered (up to 10mil). So it's really geared towards turning in serious cheats. Something makes me think this guy doesn't have a taxable income in the millions.

Pay hospital bills? If a guy batters you, you don't exactly pay your own hospital bills.

Sure you need to do the cost (getting your ass kicked, being a narc) benefit ($$, doing the right thing) analysis, might not be worth the trouble if he is small time.
