How much do you think one can make writing a book on gambling?
Curious to get opinions on this.

No it's not a how-to gambling book and no it's nothing to do with my story of betting in Vegas either. This is not even about teaching people how to win.

Being a big reader of gamling type books for years, I have what I think would be a great idea on a book that no doubt in my mind many people would find very interesintg to read. This goes from serious to recreational players.

Not sure how long this would take to write but I think I could rip through it pretty fast as I have had been laying this out in my mind and on paper for some time now.

The big question for me becomes (like anything in life) "Is it worth the time to do this?" Can one make much money doing this?

I know the owner down at Gamblers Book Shop in Las Vegas faily well and he thinks this is a great idea also.

I just don't know a thing about doing this so any ides, suggetions, thoughts or opinions would be great.

I know there are actual printing companies out there that only print what you sell type thiing today on the internet. But how do you get this idea to a small type publisher and get a book on the shelves at book stores? Is that even a possibility?

Any help or thoughts are greatly appreciated.

#1. Ask the thousands of people that have written books on gambling

#2. If it's not how to gamble, how to win at gambling, or a story about a gambler, how the hell is it a book about gambling????????????

It will depend on how many books he sells. I just can't see Oprah promoting this book in her show though.

Not trying to make a fortune. Actually think I might enjoy writing it and fairly certain many would enjoy reading. Just wondering if let's say its possibile for one to make 50k or so doing it, no?

            I have no idea.

If you are going to enjoy doing it, what's the difference how much can be made?
Write the book to yourself and surely the improvement seen by yourself will be worth the effort.

Great point and so true but I am impatient, LOL.

I want to at least make it worth all the time as time is something I feel I never have enough (who does?).

                      Stellar insight as always.

How much money you think the typical gambling book makes?

For the OP: Pm Justin7 he's writing a book that will surely cost him exponentially more money than it makes.

if its for money it is risky, you have to have money to make money. finding a publisher may be difficult, advertising can be quite costly. definately wont be quick cash

What's the best possible outcome for the book sales wise?

It's probably not gonna be worth your time, but say there's a small shot it blows up, perhaps it's worth it.

Assuming this book isn't giving away secrets of how you are making money gambling, then it's surely a retarded idea. (see wong teasers)

if you're willing to take a s_hitty deal, you could get it published, maybe get a grand out of it...then you'll have the satisfaction of having your own book to have on display in your office or game room.

Well, it certainly worked for Wong, considering he didn't even write that chapter and his name is forever associated with those teasers. Amusingly enough, on Wong's own site they aren't even called "Wong teasers" (they always called them "basic strategy teasers).

I'd pm justin7 for sure then, he is working on a gambling book allegedly that will be published later this year.

It's also something you could practically do on your own on the internet. If it's popular it can be published later in an actual book.
