Warranted talks have also occurred vis a vis biased marks from the judges, not only in regards to men's figure skating and the Plushenko fiasco but the awarding of the bronze last night to Rochette. Clearly it was a generous award, based purely on emotion and not at all on the performance on the ice.

As a long time proud Canadian, I must say in all truth, Canadian athletes and Vancouver, you have embarrasssed me and you have done so with the whole world watching.

Performance of Canadian athletes in sport has been stellar. No one expected them to clean up in the medal department (just look at the books lines for this) and they have produced many winners. The figure skating judging was horrendous and the celebration last night was completely classless and to some degree lawless. May your great nation be strengthened by it's people and may we forever forget it's shortcomings.
