Shutter Island was a huge disappointment

I got all hyped into a frenzy to see the thing from the constant marketing blitz... but what a letdown.

I figured the combo of Scorsese and my favorite genre (creepy mystery/thrillers) was a can't miss, but nope, this missed for sure. Too slow, too long, neither creepy nor thrilling... just not engaging in any way, and very poorly paced... and to top it all off, preposterous!

Save your money.

I saw it on Saturday and I thought it was pretty good. I did not walk in expecting it to be epic though. Whenever you walk into a movie expecting it to knock you on your ass you're almost definitely going to be disappointed...

The thing that sucks about redbox is that like 70% of the movies released are illegal for them to distribute. It's a pretty sweet concept but the big movie companies aren't going to let them get away with killing their revenue streams like that. Who's going to pay $20 for a dvd when they can just rent it (and burn it) for a buck?

The quality the same as the normal dvd... it's just like burning a CD. You can't even tell the difference when you are watching it.
