But why do they have to fabricate an underdog story? They were +1.5 to Canada on the road and big favs in every other game. I just don't see how any of this is all that surprising to anyone.

They usually only promote the Hell out of it when it is on there network. Surprised they are doing it for NBC. Also Canada WILL win the gold and not even convinced USA will make it to the gold medal game. If USA wins it will be an upset but not even in the same galaxy as 1980.

The line is something that I remembered. I don't know if there was a moneyline. I should not that not only was it 3.5 goals, but you had to lay the juice on the USSR, and got even money betting on the Americans. Also, I don't know if there was an over-under.
