Yet another reason for Sportsbook.com's rating
They have a promotion called the "Slaughter Rule", and according to the website it states

"Or, if your team gets beat by 10 runs or more, our ‘Slaughter Rule’ will give you a refund."

Sounds pretty simple, right? Nope, the slaughter rule applies ONLY to UNDER bets when one team loses by 10 or more runs.
What does this have to do with any slaughter rule?

More of a warning to people that can't read rules than people who should be wary of Sportsbook.com.

Wait a minute, the promo says "Or, if your team gets beat by 10 runs or more, our ‘Slaughter Rule’ will give you a refund.". I'm not an English scholar, but shouldn't it read more like "If you bet the under and lose, cheer for one team to slaughter the other."? Nothing in the way the promo is featured on the website says anything about the "slaughter rule" applying only to a total bet. Personally, that's deceiving.

We will refund your total bets when your team gets ‘slaughtered’*
Sportsbook.com defines the Slaughter Rule as getting beat by 10 runs or more once the final score is posted. If you bet the UNDER in a game where the Slaughter Rule is in effect, Sportsbook.com will refund your losing UNDER wagers.
For example; if you bet under 10.5 Runs, and the final score is 14-1, or 16-3, or 11-0, your UNDER wager will be refunded.
So if your Under Bet goes bust, start cheering for homeruns because the Slaughter Rule is always in play.

the rule is pretty clear. the thing is that sb will change the rule or claim that your wager doesn't qualify or let you jump through more hoops. the bottom line is that their book is desperate for volumn now. if you're dumb enough to deposit money there, don't complain when you're having problem claim the promotion or cashing out.

I can't believe you all are defending SB here. It's kinda like last week when I went into a store, saw a rack with an item priced at a price, but when I went to buy it, was told "No, that's for the XL, and we're sold out of that." Never mind the fact that EVERY item in that rack was the same style, I was supposed to figure out that what was advertised was different from what was offered.

SB has the most beatable poker out there, but their sports leaves alot to be desired.

                No it isnt.
There are plenty of reasons to criticise books. Check my posts I am the biggest critics of books on this site. If there is a chance of kicking them I do.
This is not one of them. The rules are clear.
Are you a shill for their competition.
Come back if they dont give you your money back on a losing under, when your team gets beat by 10 or more.

What competition? These guys get about 2% of my action and only because their poker is so easy. If it was only sports/horses, no one should use them. I don't care what anyone says, the wording "Or, if your team gets beat by 10 runs or more, our ‘Slaughter Rule’ will give you a refund." doesn't make any mention of a total wager.

Congrats! I believe this may be the stupidest thread of the month (not including a couple from Pags, of course).

Anyone with a Grade 6 level of English can understand that their rules state that only Under bets are refunded in the event of a Slaughter ... I guess you haven't quite achieved that level yet.

Click on the link that RickySteve provided in an earlier post and read the rules (something that you apparently have yet to do). It clearly states that only losing Under bets are refunded. I'm not sure how you can argue anything different ... but keep on trying ... you'll continue to look foolish.

And if you're too lazy to click on the link, here is the very first sentence in their terms and conditions:

Terms & Conditions: We refund all losing wagers for those who bet on the Under of the Total.

Seems pretty clear that only losing Under bets are meant to be refunded.

The rules are stated very clear and it is a legit promotion that has actually saved me thousands of dollars this baseball season.

I have been playing with Sportsbook.com for 7 or 8 years now and have never had any problems with them.

I do wish they would pay faster sometimes, but they do pay and that is an important factor.
