Anyone got info on Las Vegas
and online gambling? i read a story a few years back about Harrah's (i think) installing software that would allow it. they're getting fukking killed in Vegas cause the economy sucks and obama told people to not go there. some 5 star hotel just closed.

anyway, WTF are they waiting for? they know money gets shit done in Washington, just pay the right people and it will be on. i would much prefer to keep my money in the US than send it offshore.

the only sticking point i see is this wire act of 62 they used to outlaw offshore recently. how could they open it up to U.S. citizens while keeping it illegal in all the other states? unless there was a slight profit sharing of the taxes on players' winnings. shit ain't going to get better anytime soon and the U.S. economy is seeing billions of dollars year go to offshore books and never come back. just a matter of time.

Barry didn't tell people not to vacation in Vegas, he told some corporations to stop doing conventions down there.

There was no shortage of people there. I just got back from a week in Vegas. The Aria opened just before Christmas, I"m not aware of any 5 star hotels closing, however the fountaine blue project is on hold. The Wynn is currently building the encore beach club project. Not sure where you guys get your info.

Heading out there in June hope that it is packed and a good time. Not going for the gambling as much as the other things to partake of in vegas.

The poster might be referring to the Ritz at Lake Las Vegas-only one I can think of. That is a terrible situation.

you must not read the news. MGM had to sell a property or two to finish the city center. Boyds gamings project is on hold. A downtown casino is closing the hotel operation part. Look at the major gaming stocks. Gambling revenue is down over 20% from 3-4 years ago
