A debit card is the same as cash!!!!!!

You should not be gambling if you do not have the cash to put up therefore you should not be worried about not being able to deposit with a credit card.

Morons who gamble with money they do not have are the reason gambling online is not legal.

true that...I'm pretty worried. I just zero'd at my account at 5dimes and will need to make a deposit elsewhere soon as bodog isn't cutting it. Can you still use echecks? Someone mentioned that, but I feel like its exactly the same as using ****.

Western union and cashier checks or money orders are the best ways and will likely be for a long time.

This could be a crushing blow, it is hard enough now to get money via offshore.

Although some of the smart sports books are a little ahead of the curve and will find ways to get money to them.

With the laws the way they are no financial instiution wants to be involved in offshore gambling. It is just a matter of how hard and how much focus and time they spend on trying to detect it and how good the books are at hiding it.

Sorry if I repeat anyone here, but I didnt feel like reading every single post....

I work in merchant services, and I have to tell you, it has been years since any of these companies have been accepting credit cards under a merchant account deamed for "online gambling". There is something called a "cic-code", which basically denotes what kind of a merchant account/business is charging money onto your credit card. If a sportsbook actually tried to charge your credit card with a merchant account deemed "online gambling", it would NEVER go through. Which is why all books usually set up merchant accounts under the guise of "phone cards", or "video electronics", etc...

They use fradulant "cic-codes" to trick the credit cards into allowing them to charge your account. Because they lie, and hide what they are really charging the card for, it will be pretty hard for ****/** to completely block them.

one of the only things that could happen, is that the high risk processors that these sportsbooks use (which are overseas processors), could be individually blocked by **** and/or ** because the card companies have flagged the specific company for online gambling affiliations. But there will always be new companies popping up willing to write the merchant account for an online sportsbook. The accounts are called high risk - because there are a lot of "chargebacks" when people lose money, but not enough for the sportsbooks to be affected and not pay the rediculously high rates that they do to accept cards from across the globe.

simply put, there will always be a way for the books to accept credit cards. It has been a federal offense for years now, and it still hasnt stopped them. as long as they don't step on U.S soil there is no way to prosecute them. sometimes they lose a little money when caught by the credit card company, but most of the time they fly under the radar selling $1000.00 phone cards at midnight to some degenerate that needs to bed hawaii at home for a bail out.
