Well guys, football is fast approaching and I'm looking for some insight into the safety of the online sportsbook scene in late August of 2007. I'm not sure. There have been so many incidents- but isn't it true that most had happy endings and in hindsight just turned out to be scares?
First, some of the scares (these are not exhaustive- just either known to me or experienced by me so they will reflect my bias):
1) The worst was Neteller. That was really the ultimate nightmare but now they are paying and the story ends happily for those trapped.
2) Bettrojan froze payouts and I thought I would be out luck but they paid.
3) Sportsbook.com had huge delays but paid.
4) WWTS was scary and thought I'd lose there- Bodog to the rescue!
5) Bowmans gone- someone saved them, I think Bodog!
6) Actionbets gave the runaround but somehow they paid!
7) Pinny leaves and promptly pays everyone.
And then some of the unhappy endings:
1) Betonsports and the numerous books associated with them resulted in a complete stiff.
2) Cascade is now in the midst of a 6-month slowpay....perhaps they will end happily although I fear this will be another unhappy story.
I don't know what to do- I'd like to get involved with some B books (and hopefully some C books) and get back into actively looking for opportunities. Before the Fall I was talking about the New Frontier of moving into the F books to make a killing- lol- no longer that ambitious. But I just don't know what to do. I'd like to get into some of the lowjuice books but many are rated B and C- like Skybook, Catalina, or Bettrojan. Its really against my religion to bet -110 on games and I just won't do it for the most part.
What do y'all think? Can we start playing again?
