There are actually some smart people here in Costa Rica that believe he will get 1 to 3 years. My guess is he will plea for 9 years and kick in a $10 million fine of stolen players money for good measure.

You gotta understand how frustrating a place like BOS was to a guy like John. They get Jim Rome shilling for them and can't hire enough Ticos to write the bussiness. Meanwhile he struggles to make an honest buck pointing people to solid operations, while also trying to clean up some of the icky situations guys got into with BOS.

It was hard near the end. They smartly bought off everyone they could even down to raiders. But meanwhile they were giving players serious haircuts which is a nice way of saying they were robbing people.

I think many don't know that they were in dire straights even without the Carruthers arrest. They built the business on churning players. Their retention rate was close to zero. Players were catching on and their massive marketing was failing. Thats why they went out and bought off every site they could. They had never advertised online before.
