You need some kind of receiver with amp to run any decent sound system. Not enough power in your bluray player.

Wouldn't a sound bar suffice as opposed to an entire sound or theatre system?
If he's looking for better sound than the tv can provide.

the wife will change her mind if i can't find anything under $300. dropped some $$$ on a 37 inch HDTV and now the Blu Ray. so if i can't find any quality in this range, will just put those plans on hold.

Dude, I'm telling you to check out a sound bar - you can pick a decent one up for < $300 without all the other subs or accessories you aren't interested in and replace any stereo or docking station you might have taking up space now.

that's funny because i am a laid back type gentlemen and let my woman get away with little shit all time. told this story to my boss, female boss at that. so i shrug of all the little things and really just let her do whatever she wants, within reason. but when she starts talking or demanding too much, i use the sentence "shut the fukk up". it serves as a notice for the bullshit to end and that daddy means business. should have seen the look my boss gave me. but you have to keep the ladies in check or else...

Sound Projectors are somewhat limited in sound quality to small room applications where the need to run wires is avoided. For an upgrade of TV speakers I agree to an extent that it " OK " quality.

The lack of bass from a sound projector is absolutely pathetic

Maybe if you lived in new jersey your household income would be a little higher and you could afford a bigger TV with a sound system.
