website for value of football cards?
I browsed today & couldn't really find anything worth a damn as far as giving a retail or wholesale price. Beckett wants you to pay!

I never really collected football cards but I have probably 400 really nice cards from the early 80's. No complete sets but some Walter Payton, Montana, Bradshaw, Elway, Moon, Danny White, just different Topps cards. All have been in plastic for the past 20-25 years.

Is there a site that has each years cards from diff manufacturers price guide.

I did collect all the desert storm cards and have every set from every manufacturer uncirculated. They were crazy valuable for about a month then the bottom dropped out & hasn't came back it seems in 20 years.

Just looking to unload some of this crap I've had for years. Have some nice NASCAR stuff also. You know, for the right collector.

Beckett's website used to have a free way to do it, but I believe they changed it to subscription only. I can tell you that most, if not all of these are practically worthless. It sucks, but cards from these days are forgotten about due to all the new autographs and game-used cards...

I gotta disagree. I mean it was a waste of money, but there was nothin' like the rush of opening a fresh pack of cards and hoping to pull your favorite players.

This is different from gambling how?

I believe '84 Elway is the rookie. Maybe you mean you have the '85 which are horizontal, black border.

Packs were cool but also spent decent amount just on individual cards all down in value even rookies I bought of Hall of Famers like Duncan and Moss before they ever played a game.

Like 11 years ago I sold a Ron Dayne RC for $200 could not get $.02 for it today

I can't comment on alot of those but I can tell you the 1,000 yard club ones are worth nothing. I have a Jerry Rice and its worth under $2.50.

From that generation the only football cards worth money are the rookies and usually worth nothing without PSA authenication.

I do wish you luck in your search for a free site though.

I may just sell the whole book for $100 or something. If someone needs one to complete a set it's worth a whole lot more to that individual. I know there's a few worth $10-$20

Yeah cards are relatively value-less at this point, and im sitting on plenty of em. They'll probly regain some value at some point but who know when that'll be.

You basically got a small time to unload something or you're stuck with it. Like Dale Earnhardt stuff was going like crazy a week after he died, now nothing. The market is fickle on stuff like that, you have to find the right collector for it to have any value. Just like those desert storm cards I was talking about. Right after the war they were hot, some cards going for $500. You'd think 20 years later & alot of those guys dead, especially Saddam, they'd be worth more now.
My dad brought back alot of those "saddam" dollars they called them. I can't remember the real monetary Iraqi value but they have Saddam with a hologram to the right for counterfeiting purposes. I have 4 or 5 of those. I figured once we hung his ass they might be worth more.

I was a fresman in HS when my dad was over there so I was really into all that *hit & collected everything.

I have the days of thunder cars in packages. Exxon did the metal ones & hardees did the plastic ones. Have all those dumbass things that Hardees used to have, like the california raisins set, and the complete set of smurf glasses. I just always had the mindset as a kid to put stuff up & not open it or play with it. Maybe when I'm 90 all that will be worth something and I can enjoy that money for 30 minutes LoL!

a little off topic but what about comic books? I got a ton of Xmen, DD, Avengers and Spiderman. I think the market fell out of that also. All these books from the early to late 80's.

probably equally as worthless, but you can check out ebay to see the market value.

Hit up EBAY, I have started dumping all my old collectibles on there and been doing pretty good. Just sold a Don Drysdale/Koufax autographed ball for $1200 2 weeks back and trying to get rid of all my old stuff, no room for it anymore.

Man I have that Elway in the picture. It plainly says 84 on it. It has his rookie stats of 83 on the back. Don't most topps card say rookie on them? This looks to be his sophomore year card to me. I don't know but wouldn't the 83 be his rookie card with no stats on the back?

Years ago I pulled a 1994 Brett Favre autographed Pro Line Live card out of a 4 dollar pack from toys r us. The card was valued at like $150 at the time. It's probably been 10 years since i checked it's value in a beckett. I looked on the internet a few times but couldn't find it.

The issue sold Monday morning is a 1938 edition of Action Comics No. 1, widely considered the Holy Grail of comic books. It features Superman lifting a car on its cover and originally cost 10 cents.
It was sold by a private seller to a private buyer, neither of whom released their names. The sale was conducted by the auction site ComicConnect.com.
The previous comic book record was set last year when $317,000 was paid for the same Action Comics No. 1 issue. This copy fetched a much higher price because it's in better condition
