    Questions for Omega Mike thread
It seems like there will be enough questions for Mike that we don't have to keep jamming them into a 5Dimes thread, so I'll start this one. My question du jour is this:

Mike, will it be possible to accomplish the INITIAL funding of an Omega account via a withdrawal from one of your participating books? (E.g. a withdrawal from Jazz) Or must you fund it from an external source to start? (Or perhaps this is at the discretion of each of the participating books?)

    Thanks!

withdrawing from a site with Omega

Omega has no restrictions on you withdrawing from a site without making a deposit with Omega first. The individual site may have rules that prevent this. Hope that answers your question and thanks for creating the thread.

I used it and had no problems at all except that 5dimes has now lowered the daily max with OIS to $300. Because of this I sent a good amount to Jazz...the deposits to Jazz were very quick as it just took contacting them to get the credited funds. I did make a $300 deposit to 5dimes to test it out and it worked well...the funds were in my account instantly.

Both OIS and 5Dimes CS reps are looking into the limited daily maximum (it was previously $5000) and are supposed to get back to me. I'm hoping they work it out and have the deposit max back to normal and I'll send the rest of the funds their way.

I worked with Thomas from OIS the entire time who was a big help getting the funds available. From start to finish it took a full week (5 business days) which is what I was told from the start.

Great experience and hopefully the 5dimes issue is resolved. Big Props to OIS and I wish them success going forward with hopes to see more books adding them as an option.

I missed the 5 dimes thread. Who are these people? I understand we can't be too explicit but what kind of stupid ass, long name is omegainternetwhatthe****ever.com and why should we trust these people especially after naming their company something so long and dumb and easy to forget. I hope they remember to pay people.

There are a ton of thieves in the processing business and if they aren't smart enough to come up with a better name for their service I am finding it hard to nerve it up and use them as an e-wallet.

Anyone dealt with these guys and noticed anything competent or honorable about them?

I know some of the bigger sportsbooks passed on them and would like to know why.

                Omega questions

                WassyMac,

Thanks for the comments and glad you had a good experience. With regard to sites adjusting their daily limits, I know they are always trying to provide the best security and limit risk. I think as time goes on and Omega's track record grows with these sites the restrictions on limits will be raised.

                Need Protection,

I agree with you it is always best to be cautious with any new processor. Omega offers limits as low as $100 to deposit so you can try the service with not a lot of intial risk involved and then as you feel more comfortable you can expand your use of Omega. I can't do anything about the name but I usually just refer to it as Omega.

I hope that they turn out to be reputable enough for you to use. With insightful posts like this, the books could certainly use your business!

Mike, any further update(s) on Bookmaker, Bodog or (not holding my breath) Sportsbook.com? Also, are you pursuing Costa Rican books EXCLUSIVELY, or is that just where you've focused your initial attack? Thanks in advance.

                    Other sites

                    Drunken,

We are in conversations with sites outside of Costa Rica. No word yet on Bookmaker but I will let you know.

                      Using Credit Cards on Omega

I just wanted to update everyone and let you know that you can now use your credit/debit cards to send a Money Gram or Western Union to Omega. Previously, we only had the option of going to an agent and making the transaction directly. Now you can make the transaction online with a credit card or debit card.

I know this isnt for everyone, but for those who would like to use this option to send Money Gram or Western Union it is now available with Omega. Thanks, good luck to everyone this weekend.

                        Changes to Omega Payout Structure

Omega has recently dramatically altered the payout structure. Omega now offers Free payouts using the following methods:

                        Money Gram
                        Checks by Courier
                        Bank Wire over $500

Also, we have standardized and reduced the Western Union Payout fees.

I know many of you had wanted to see changes in this area and we have listened and as always we are trying to improve our service.

What Mike is saying is pretty eye-popping. Here it is directly from the site FAQ:

Is there a fee for withdrawing (cashing out) from Omega Internet Solutions?

Yes, for withdraw by Western Union. All the other withdraw options are free.

Is there a fee to fund (deposit) to your own Merchant or User account?

No, there is no fee to fund (deposit) to your own Merchant or User account.
This is Neteller-esque for the player.

So I guess the books pay the fee, which I'm thinking must be around seven or eight percent--if anyone can confirm it would be good information to have. Mike?

It will be interesting to see what kind of roll-over requirements the books come up with to make this viable on their end.

                            Omega fees

I just want to make a point clear about depositing via Western Union or Money Gram. Omega charges no fees but we do not cover any fees that ** or ** charges for sending money to Omega. The payouts are free of any fees for **, checks, and bank wires above $500. Also, as a reminder you can use a credit card to send a Person to Person to Omega. Thanks for the comments Bookie.
