have you ever noticed

That almost half of all bums have no clothes, no food, nothing. What they always do have is a dog and a guitar. I was driving the other day and I saw a bum on the side of the road wanting money. His sign said "Thanks for stimlating economy". He was jamming out in the median of a pretty busy intersection in Jacksonville, Fl. It put me into deep thought for the rest of the day. I almost got fascinated with bums so then while I was driving to the other side of town I looked for more bums. I know this is a really random thread and dont take this for looking down on homeless people. I was just wondering why do they all have a dog and all know how to play music?

any thoughts?

So they have something to do in life since they have no home to go to & so they don't bore themselves to death just sitting there.

Yea but couldnt that guitar lead to a good meal or more? My question is how come they all know how to play music? What is it with musically talented people becoming homeless?

That's all they do is practice music so they perfect that art. IDFK lol

I would like to think that is it. I am convinced though that it is much deeper. I have never really thought about bums too much but I can not stop thinking about what is it like to be like that? I am looking forward to driving towards downtown today because I know I will see a bunch and I can do more of my research on what goes on with these people.

I am still convinced it is deeper than that. I have a theory but I am not ready to unveil it yet. I need to see more bums today to finalize this theory of mine.

I will post back tonite on any more bum findings as I am trying to understand what its like to live like them and what is the connection between homeless people and music.
I may have to take my girlfriends 10 year old son with me so that next time he is complaining about how bad he has is with his 120 channels on tv and his xbox 360 and xbox live and ipod touch and his own computer and everything else.

Maybee the guitar is what made them homeless. Hear that kids go to school and quit your band. you dont want to fight your dog for some scraps out of my Mcdonalds bag when you get older.

believe it or not some people like being homeless. next time you give a homeless guy $ if you have some extra time ask them their story. alot of Nam vets on the streets here in so cal.

I did not see any bums yesterday but will be on the hunt for them today. Maybe it was too cold to play guitar outside yesterday. Hunter that was pretty good.
