Starting to feel strongly about the Russians taking the hockey gold
They are getting decent odds and did anyone notice Canada entered the 2nd period tied at zero?

Plus Luongo has always been a letdown in huge spots. Brodeur's not that great anymore.

Obv no one but Canada or Russia will win Gold

The more I think about it the more I like it

luongo a letdown in huge spots? care to explain

Russia has a more scary top 6 but if you look at all 4 lines Canada has lot better depth, not to mention a way better defense, and i'll take luongo/brodeur over nabokov/bryzgalov

Norways goalie was playing great yesterday, too bad he got pulled

I like their chances as well. Still think Canada is a frontrunner though.

Obviously rooting for USA to win it, but realistically, we'd be lucky to metal...

yeah rooting for usa too no miracle on ice this year though no punch

shawn - what has luongo ever done in a big playoff series besides lose?

i agree on the depth, san jose's top line as their 4 is redonkulous, but if canada's gonna be starting that russian top 6 will own them

stevek....I think you may be misinformed. I count 5 teams with legitmate chances to win Gold. Canada, Russia, Sweden, Czech and Slovakia.

I would probably put Canada and Russia slightly ahead of the other three, but wouldn't be surprised if any of the 5 listed comes out on top.

luongo has carried all those canucks team, hes been able to steal games for us when our offense wouldnt show up, not sure if you watch many canucks games but ever since they got luongo their offense has been real weak, to get deep in the playoffs secondary scoring is a must, something the canucks lacked, until last year they didnt have a respectable 2nd line

this year the canucks offense is strong, the sedins are on a tear with burrows, and kesler/raymond are playing great on the 2nd line

with luongo finally having a good offense in front of him, he'll have his deepest playoff run this year

im real confident that canada comes out on top this olympics, goaltending is a non issue

the russians were once the most mentally group of athletes in sports, now they are the exact opposite, outside of ovechkin, the don't have mental toughness, physically no one can match them . Imagine the speed when kovalchuk, ovechkin and datsyuk or on the ice at the same time
