    Acid and Coke.

I actually don't drink at all. I voluntarily put myself under the category of a pussy.

A good Cab for me. There is nothing better than a nice glass right before bed to sooth the stress that I am having after that huge cant miss bet goes the wrong way and I am in the middle of debating whether or not to try and double back up on some of the late nite west coast games or to just take my medicine. Some of those nites it might be a whole bottle of cab right before bed.

Have you ever seen the movie Sideways? It was filmed in my area. We have tons and tons of wineries around here. We have some good wines here.

Very nice indeed. I had a 2007 Banfi Brunello di Montalcino last Friday as part of a wine tasting and it was very good.

I like Opus One but it's real expensive.

Within that price range I really enjoy:

                          Paso Creek Cabernet
                          7 Deadly Zins
                          Frei Brothers (anything red)
Clos Du Bois 2006 Pino is pretty decent as well

The preconception about the bottle of the wine should disappear in the long run. Boxes are better for wine conservation than bottles. And cheaper to produce and transport. That is a fact. But the public stays away of boxes, as they are currently linked to cheap bad wines. When a good producer takes the risk the momentum will start.

The same is happening with cork. For many years no one would use a plastic cork. Now it is steadily gainig acceptance, and the natural stuff will go the way of the dodo.

yeah plastic corks common... Not sure about boxes making it main stream, but twist caps are here to stay. Cork has become more expensive over the years, and by using twist caps, you can guard against wine spoilage, however on the flip side, many great wines need to age, and the cork allows the bottle to breath, which helps with aging, however too much 'breathing' can also lead to spoilage. More and more winery are aging their wine in barrels for a couple years extra before releasing, and then just putting the wine in twist cap bottles. I can see this gaining major ground, way before box wines catch on to people other than sorority girls

The process natural cork -> plastic cork -> screw cap is already underway. It is cheaper and better. I doubt it could have happened without the intermediate syntetic cork. Of course, for wines that need 10 years to age, the natural stuff will be used, but for everything else, the screw cap is the future.

About boxes and tetrabricks, they will keep gaining acceptance. The wine in USA is not a "special dinner" anymore, it is becoming an everyday drink. And for that market, which is over 70% of market share (in volume, not price), the boxes and tetrabricks are better suited. I do not understand why the "two buck Chuck" is still sold in bottles, it could be tetrabrick liters for the same price. Once again, the super premium stuff will never leave the glass bottle, but for everything else the writing is in the wall. Australia and Sweden have embraced the box already, and France is following suit.
