these sports aren;t the mainsports in the world where they make millions, so why would black athletes want to compete in them

Not to ask a dumb question but why would anyone care about the skin color of the athletes? Seems there would be more pressing matters to concern ourselves with.

Who cares? The fact is that the majoity of athletes in certain events are white, and in other events are black. So you gear your advertising to the T.V. audience that you expect. The vast majority of the athletes in the Winter Olympics are from Northern European Countries and Canada. These athletes are extremely predominately White, and so are the viewers that watch them. The NBA has players that are prediminately Black, and so are the viewers who watch them. The only sport where color does not affect the viewing population is football, where the majority of players are black, but the majority of viewers are white. You can thank gambling for that.

You also have to qualify for the Olympics which is tougher if you don't practice as much as the countries with snow and ice.

Very good point. The black athletes are making money and the viewers are losing all there money gambling.
