I generally do, but it sure "can" ( pun intended) get cumbersome.
With bottled stuff like say beer, I'll put it back in the original box, and return it to a "package" (liquor) store, as I buy something.
I don't dump cans on packies, ( we don't sell Pepsi, or Coke, or whatever, you happen to have) mostly wife's ****ing diet pepsi., so machine it, I hate running that shit through the machines at the supermarket, always fills up, and you wait 20 minutes for some retard, er "technician", to empty the ****ing bin. They sort of discourage returning the containers, in other words...
This whole thing is a failure. I remember when it started ( in CT) around 1980, well a nickel then was almost like a quarter, now !
It was worth collecting discards, or at least saving your own stuff, back then....
Now,I do it to be green, but most people just trash the containers.
Deposit becomes 25 cents a can/bottle, then they come back. I don't endorse that !
How about a $1 deposit
That's a 12 pack of Pepsi for $3.99, plus a $12 deposit, $15.99 please !
