BetJamaica (SBR rating A+) and The Greek Sportsbook (SBR rating A+) bracing for category 5 Hurricane Dean. The hurricane is expected to hit the island on Sunday. BetJamaica will switch to backup numbers once winds surpass 50 MPH. Players will be able to use 877-906-5666 for wagering and 877-906-3730 for banking and customer services. Bettors who have difficulty reaching TheGreek should use 1-800-310-8755. Although the sportsbooks will remain staffed and in operation during the storm players should be prepared for website downtime.

You dont need to worry about your money or information. That is all safe.

If that is your only account funded you may be inconvenienced. Its remotely possible that they could be offline for a day or two.

I dont know the plan in detail enough to post it but this is not their first hurricane. The 2nd in charge there is one of the top IT gurus in the industry. They do have redundant servers located outside the island so the critical info is safe. What they have less control on is the internet and phone lines. Also keep in mind that they are in Montego Bay on the opposite side of the island from where this storm would hit if it hits Jamaica.

Thanks for the information SBRJohn on this, it is becoming a serious situation in Jamaica tonight and tommorrow, this is a really bad storm that is getting ready to hit there, I think they probably will be well prepared for this hopefully. I do remember that they had a Cat 3 storm hit a few years back and they were back up and running within two days. I am just glad that it isn't in the heart of football season during the regular season in Sept. or Oct. and I would be willing to say that they are glad it is now and not then. This could get very interesting over the next 48 hours there.

Terrible for them. But while this storm is raging, their lines could be soft. *evil grin*

Assuming you can get in to bet, and they don't cancel claiming extenuating circumstances etc.
