House edge in Baccarat is 1.04%.
Better than most casino games, but no -EV games are "player friendly".

Some game pointers..........
1. Try to find commissions on the Banker that are lower then the standard 5%
2. Look for promotions within the casino that can be applied to the game
3. Use coupons
4. Show the pit your slot card so you may be rated.
5. If possible, when the pit boss is looking, make your first bet double what your normal wagers will be, you will be rated higher.
6. Do not play every hand, you will garnish more comps and stay at the table longer
7. Get a casino host
8. Avoid the TIE bet, very bad odds
9. Try playing the betting method I have described in other posts.......1-1-1-3 method
10. Have fun and make the game enjoyable for those around you.........be happy when they win.
11. Have a few free cocktails while you are playing, but try to limit yourself to no more then two.
Baccarat is my favorite casino game in the tables game area, and as JJ and others have pointed out, has a very low house hold percentage.............which can be driven even lower if you follow some of the pointers listed above.
HAVE FUN OUT THERE GANG!!!

LOL
This game requires very little skill(some will claim ZERO) from the player other then them managing their bankroll and placing wagers.........the dealer does all the work............after playing through a couple shoes at the table, you will understand the game well enough to enjoy the game.
Give it a try, very enjoyable game and relaxing.

If you understand math...........blackjack, slots, and video poker are all beatable longterm also along with the ones you mentioned...........and this is not even taking comps into consideration.
........and with coupons/promo, most if not all casino games can be beaten longterm, but we certainly will not put these games in the same catergory with BJACK, SLOTS, VIDEO POKER.........

But most people don't use comps/coupons and even with those, the house edge is outrageous. When you drive down Las Vegas Blvd and look to your left or right you can see the house edge in all it's glory

Yes, with the lesser games.
The point I'm making is there is no house edge for the sophisticated gambler that plays slots, video poker, and blackjack............NOT EVEN TAKING COMP AND COUPONS INTO CONSIDERATION.
Your post made it appear that only sports/racebooks, poker, and at times craps were the only beatable games.

True on the first account...............not sure about fun though.
Plus, you have to stand, and usually around a bunch of drunken idiots.
With Baccarat you will be around hard core gambling asians more times then not that are totally focused on gaming and not drinking.

I'm a drunken idiot, so I guess that's why I fit in around the craps table. I try playing BJ, baccarat, etc., and I am bored out of my mind. I love being around a table where everyone is whooping it up and having a great time. The energy surrounding a hot pair of dice is extremely contagious.
When I am ready to sit down and be serious about my gambling, it's off to the poker room. There at least I can enjoy watching someone else's chipstack dwindle...

No your right
My Point is that 95% of people who walk through casino door are NOT sophisticated gamblers
and JJ should be ashamed of himself to encourage players to play games with out knowledge of how to beat casinos
and online casinos......

Agreed, but I would HOPE the percentage of sophisticated gamblers coming from this site would be higher. JJ was talking to a very specific audience, who SHOULD know how not to be suckers when visiting Vegas. I know there are lots of exceptions on this site, but I think we have most of them on ignore, I know I do.

Actually, JJ is not far off, and could be considered right in many respects with the title of his thread when directing it towards "unsophisticated" gamblers.
The reasons being......
1. Baccarat is a slow game, translation, less oppurtunity to lose money fast.
2. Low house percentage
3. Not as many tempting betting oppurtunties that are huge -EV that are available in say a game such as craps.
Good posts though Steevie...........and craps can be a load of fun as you suggested, especially at the right table.
