Does anyone know anything about Calvin and Hobbes or rare books?
My wife has a book that I saw today in her bookshelf. It is called "Teaching with Calvin and Hobbes." She is a Middle School principal now, so obviously she doesnt need this book.
So I was going to sell it on Amazon. I checked out Amazon and only 1 seller had that book listed at an astronomical price. Hell, I was thinking about selling it $25.00!
But then I researched the book a little on the internet and found that only 2500 copies exist of this book. I assume that is a limited distribution. The other problem was that 95% of these books were given away to teachers at a specific teaching conference in Texas which she didnt even attend, but another teacher did and gave her this copy back in 1995.
Now it has never been opened, so it is in great condition if not Brand New condition. I am not much into books or collecting books, so I have no idea what price to sell this book for.
Who were "CALVIN AND HOBBES" anyway? Apparently I was in High School when they were published in the newspaper I guess, but I just dont see the hoopla! Was it is a popular series or something?
And can someone tell me a good price to ask on Half.com or Craigslist? I am not looking to sell it for the highest price, I just dont want to get jewed by the buyer either.
