    Anyone capping the Oscars?
Early leans on The Hurt Locker +116 (I really don't think Avatar has the votes) and I want to take a shot on Carey Mulligan for Best Actress at +650. I just can't see that ridiculous southern accent of Bullock winning.

just pick the movie that pushes the most liberal agenda, and it will win. kind of like The Wrestler losing to a movie about a pole-smoker that everyone will have forgotten about in another year.

The Hurt Locker sucked. It was terrible. I was expecting something like Black Hawk Down.

Solid point. That would benefit Avatar for that liberal envirocrap throughout the movie.

            fair enough.

It was certainly worse than Black Hawk Down. But I think it's still better than Avatar. Also looking at Up in the Air as a value bet. People love sucking on those Clooney nads.

Now that there is a 2D bootleg copy of Avatar (thanks to an academy member) the popularity is dropping fast. The movie is bad if not seen in 3D and I'm sure the members will vote accordingly. Not that The Hurt Locker will be one of the greatest of all time but far better than Avatar and better than the rest of the nominees. Getting it at +anything is a good bet.

Christoph Waltz for supporting actor is a no doubter. Hopefully will find a lower price but even -3000 is fine.
Jeff Bridges for leading actor -658
I think Cameron has a chance to win best director. At +173 or better I might bet it.
Also, might take a chance with "The Field" in documentary at +452. I couldn't say that The Cove was that much better that Food Inc. or Burma VJ.
Still need to watch a few more movies to make a decision on some other categories.

Take "Ajami" for the best foreign language film. Should have some good odds.

Thanks JA. Will take a look at Ajami. Waltz definitely a lock and I think The Cove is a lock for Doc so I may pass on that. Looking on the best +odds I can find.

If that mom from "Precious" doesn't win, something is definitely wrong. The story was a little too much, but she was excellent.

I'm sure Monique has her gold weave all picked out already. No way she loses Best supporting actress. She's got -1000 on Bodog. Every Oscars now has to have at least 1 black sympathy vote and she is it this year.

No way is that a sympathy vote. She really deserves to win it. Her last scene in the movie was about as good of a performance as it gets.
