For those who set goals for a season...I have a question for you
I try to be goal oriented in this biz, because I Feel it is a necessity.

A typical goal could be 55-45 and with the help of reduced juice yo can increase that profit slightly.

What if you had a goal of 10 units, but stopped once you went 20-10?

Lets say you averaged 5% juice, you would make more in terms of dollars because you are paying 5% on a smaller amount lost.

So instead of setting a goal of 55-45, is it better to just set a goal of 10 units and when you first reach your +10 mark, call it quits?

    * I realize for some this could happen very quickly and obviously reevaluation for the rest of the season could be in order.

Sportsbetting can be a positve game for alot of people so stopping after reaching a win goal of 10 units would be incorrect. There will be losing steaks along the way but a winning player will keep building his bankroll so there would be no reason for win goals.

I used the 10 goal mark for discussion.

You are telling me there is no reason to set goals?

IMO, if you are 55% player, you should most certainly keep playing after hitting say +10 or whatver. Assuming you are still finding advantage plays. Otherwise you are passing up opportunites to make $$.

Hitting 55% every season is tough (even if thats your long term average). Random luck is going to see you have years above that and years below.

Well, it might be satisfying to quit once you are ahead x # of units I think you are passing up future profits by doing so.

durito - I am not saying that if you hit your goal lets say in week 3 for 10 units that you quit. I am saying once you immediately hit your goal you then pay yourself and if you feel there is still opportunity left in the season, you set a new goal and go from there.

My main thought in the first post was that you would be paying juice on a lesser dollar amount which in turn would lead to more profit.

If there is a flaw in this please let me know.

For anyone who believes they can hit 56% or better over 100 plays.

Technically speaking, this bet would be positive EV for anyone who believes they can hit over 53.341% in a season.

imgv - I am not really debating if I can or cannot hit that %.
