I don't understand this either. Another thing that pisses me off is when you have celebrities donating to help kids with AIDS in Africa. I mean that's nice and all, but there's homeless kids and shit here that could use some help too...

totally dude, everyone loves helping people but refuse to help the poor and sick and needy in our own backyard....

Furthermore, why can't we start an unemployment fund, everyone will just say the government takes care of that, but doesn't Haiti and every other country have a government that should take care of them? We really don't wanna help anyone, the people of America that is, people contributed to Haiti because it was a trend or the cool thing to do.

When our town was declared a disaster area, we got more aid and offers than I would have ever imagined. People were lined up handing out food and water and ice and clothes. I met more people there to help than you would have ever thought. Local celebs, politicians from all over, We even got care packages from another country helping out.

People help more than you think, and if you ever are unfortunate enough to go through something like this just know there will be people there to help you. This country is great, I wouldn't make those comments unless you have been through it and see what actually happens.
