Honestly I watch soccer during the WC or when there is absolutely nothing else on. I know the rules and understand the game, but I just cant get into it. I know there is good $$ to be made, but I dont have a clue. I want to like soccer, but just havent been able to get on this train.

Someone tell me how you do it please.

That is exactly how I got into hockey back in 93-94. The Stars moved to dallas and I went to about 4-5 games a month for years. However, I wont be attending any soccer matches in the near future. So that wont help.

I'm going to follow the World Cup for the first time. I think one the reasons why Americans can't follow it is because the league structure and following players is confusing. You have Beckham being loaned from MLS to Serie A and teams like Saprissa in the Costa Rican league and concafca. MLS is supposed to be the soccer we follow but it's essentially the minor leagues. On top of all the league mixing International soccer competition is bigger than the league soccer. That doesn't happen in any other sport.

              Agreed!

But I want to make money on the plays. I will tail in football or basketball only if I know something about the teams and have a feel for the situation, but dont want to get too involved at the time. I wont blindly tail just for action. That is why I cant bet on the sport. I want to learn though!

For the past three years I have been slowly creeping into soccer. You have to focus on one league at first. I started with EPL being that it is the best out there. So I was watching all these games, learning players, learning tendencies, etc. Then I started betting after I watched about 10 games. Started very small, seeing what worked, what didn't, what type of bet I was comfortable with, what types I wasn't, etc. Now, I am currently 11-3 this EPL season. Lucky hot streak? Maybe, but if you want to get into it and be profitable this is the only way to start.

So, do you think its just a lucky streak or do you think you have a feel for what you are doing? I know when I have been lucky and when I am spot on. I think you get lucky by putting yourself in a good spot. Not just by flipping a coin. What are some things you have learned by watching the EPL. If you have time put a few lines with your soccer plays and I will watch for what you are saying. I will even throw a few points your way for the effort. Thanks!

JA I want to hear from you on this too!
