What is the Verdict for Canbet?
I have been on vacation since the 08/06/07 for the past 2wks i must have spend 3/4 of that time researching for the best books out there to bet with come September. My criteria:are for a place to bet that will let you bet and not cut you off when your winning or F*ck you out of the possibility to come back from a losing streak and will pay you when you win without all sorts of aggravations in the end.REMEMBER THESE ARE UNANIMOUS CHOICES FROM PEOPLE ACROSS THE NET.I am not to big on :bonuses, reduce juice, nice website, good program, cute phone operators with D-cups,ect.ect.not because they don't count but because you cannot have everything!?

It is unanimous that PINNACLES is definitely the undisputed champion(and that's across the net)
    than BOOKMAKERS/BETCRIS,
    than The Greek
    and lastly:the 1-2 punch of WSEX/MATCHBOOK combo.
I will start this September with WSEX (for sure)and MATCHBOOK if i can COMPLETELY grasp the subtleties of this form of betting, believe you me it is not obvious to the enunciated!!And subsequently afterwards if i get bigger will move to the "upper crust". The Europeans are big on exchanges and it seems that this mania as reach our side of the world.I will make it my business to study the concept over the next few days because EVERYBODY LOVES MATCHBOOK.HOWEVER the reason why i am inquiring about Canbet is just in case i cannot make myself comfortable with MATCHBOOK i would like a alternative at that level. i cannot get a fix on CANBET.So since i completely respect and value the opinions of the members from this site i am hoping with your advices to be steer in the right direction.
    thank you

I would take Pinnacle, Greek, Matchbook, WSEX, and Canbet, if those were all open to US players. For US players Pinnacle and Canbet are out. Maybe add Skybook for the free 1/2 pt during football.

DARK HOUSE,thanks for your input,i trully appreciate it,
you don't seem to like BOOKMAKERS and Betcris old chum, why?
Also i see that you put CANBET on your list ,therefore i will keep this in mind and used them too ,if i cannot grasp the subtleties MATCHBOOK betting.I am going to bed now (7:30amE),'cause i went out last night and got totally and absolutely BLITZ!! I haven't done that in years. When i wake up later on I will go to MATCHBOOK'S website and study their "how to play"&"Key" links and see what happens.

      GOOD DAY ALL &
      GOOD LUCK!!

I have been betting with Canbet for over 18mths now. They are A++ in my books. They have never did anything to worry me and always paid promptly. If you are a steam better you wont be restricted but you have to get on quick as they have a system that reduces the max bet when a particular team starts to get hit. Fantastic book in my opinion.

If you already have an account with them, can you continue? And on a second note: do all the books in Costa Rica have usally have the same point spreeds, as a rule?

Thank you Lads,i am all set for September i know exactly what i am going to do and the course of action to take now, thanks to all of you.I can now CHILL and enjoy the last week of my vacation but i still haven't got around to study MATCHBOOK yet and get acclimated to it's betting subtleties.Nevertheless it is good to know that CANBET is a good alternative even though reviews are mix about them on the net but i will trust the opinion of a fellow member on this site any time when in doubt.
I have gone all ever the place since July 30th and i haven't been able to find another site where the majority of the members are as interesting, knowledgeable, serious, well informed and savvy as on SBR.
                thank you]

Not entirely true. Canbet does accept action from inside the US, but you do have to sign up with a foreign address. You can't change your old address, but have to open a new account.

Excerpts from a chat from back in February:

Nikki: At the current time, as long as an account does not have a US address then that will be fine. However, please be aware that the laws are continuously changing and it may be a case of not just blocking the address, but also the IP of where the bet is being placed from.

Nikki: However, we cannot change the address of your current account
DH: So I would have to open a new account?
Nikki: Yes unfortunately, you would. As for the IP address, at the current time accounts are being blocked by country/address. If the US laws get stricter, which is quite possible that they will, then we may be forced into using IP addresses to block as well. Hopefully that will not happen
I was going to keep this to myself, but why not share it with the forum? Just don't go tell the whole world about it, because that could change things. And while you're at it, here's my Canbet 'refer-a-friend' code: 0764351550

Canbet consistantly moved lines against me or wouldn't allow my action until they adjusted their lines against me. When I withdrew they paid up promptly and that was good. At one point they would allow a $10 bet then move the line on me anything more was rejected.

One of the better books out there, yes. Had some small arguments with an agent over the Live Chat but was able to sort it out. Top Notch!
