    Offshore Disaster Recovery Plans
As this is my first year of wagering professionally. Was curious if anyone can comment on disaster recovery/continuity plans for these offshore books. Would be bad if I can't place wagers because a hurricane wipes out my book's facilities. I would hope as much money as these places bring in they would have backup plans to operate in another country or have redundant servers somewhere else.

    Can anyone comment on this?

    Thanks

I used to work for MetLife, we had employees transfered from parts of florida on more than one occasion due to facilities being wiped out. Most fortune 500 companies have plans in place to keep business up if disaster strikes. A small offshore book may not be able to afford plans like that.......

There is only one book in the hurricane belt thats BetJam/ Olympic which of course are in Jamaica. They have been through major storms before and yes, they are ready.

Earth quakes are a threat in Costa Rica and Panama and they are as prepared as they can be.

John.....has a book ever been wiped out by a storm? Makes senses that BetJam, being in a hurricane area, would be prepared.

There have been a few times when several books have been down due to a large hurricane. I can't recall which ones, but it has happened and is usually only a few days.

Assuming a book is financially sound (Not running a ponzi scheme), it should be fine. It's not as if the cash is sitting there ready to wash away. Now if a book is running a ponzi scheme, it could be in trouble...

Anyone here have any knowledge of WSEX and Matchbook in regard to disaster recovery/business continuity? I see this hurricane has at least caused a warning in Antigua.
